Money or Glory in Nebraska Craft Fairs

By Rick Amorey

It is something worthwhile to immerse yourself in making crafts. There's a certain satisfaction when your handcrafted items are admired by your friends and family. It doesn't really matter what sort of craft work you do, may it be something that involves carving wood or maybe making intricate designs in cloth. Or maybe even in cooking something up in the kitchen. These crafts aren't just for our own personal enjoyment. All artists strive for praise and recognition.

There are quite a number of craftspeople that are also business-minded. They try to use their skills and talents to make them a few dollars to supplement their income. Quite a few choose to focus their attention on the artwork they're creating, while others use this skill to earn a few dollars here and there. This is an admirable way of thinking; if selling your wares has crossed your mind, try to push the idea even further.

But always remember why you were inspired to pick up the tools of the trade in the first place. Bottom line of the matter, craftspeople make their wares to express themselves. Always keep his in mind, and you will do just fine when you have decided on selling your crafts.

Whether you are into crafts to impress or to make money, you will find that attending craft fairs will be beneficial to you. For those that only seek to show their work to people other than their peers, the craft fair will accommodate that, and your sales will just be a simple bonus. And needless to say, this is the perfect opportunity for entrepreneurial craftspeople.

So be on the lookout for craft fairs and festivals in your area. The State of Nebraska alone holds a number of them annually, and if you take a few seconds to look over the Internet, you will find some that are relatively near your area. From there, it is just a simple matter of contacting the event organizers for a booth.
