By Jim Samposzi

Your workstation or desk is a place that you are going to have to be attached to daily, for the whole day. Some believe that employees spend more time at work than any other location. Actually, the average person stays at the desk for about 8.5 hours each day. This means that the most time of one's life is spent at our jobs.

Because of the multitude of time spent at work, and attached to a desk, its important that you are comfortable. Not only is it nice to be very comfortable, it is also healthy. People who do not know how to support their backbone can see significant problems. Injury, misalignment, bone movement, and all variations of spine issues can pop up when one does not know how to support the back when sitting for a long time. Furthermore, not choosing the right chair will bring about damage to your spine.

Mesh office chairs are great because of the material. Mesh office chairs provide comfort and flow for people who must sit for long hours. They also cool your body's core by providing superior ventilation. Mesh office chairs also provide a more matching curve of the back. When one continually uses the mesh office chair, the chair will start to mold to the specific person's shape. Mesh chairs usually have adjustments for: lower back, tilting, moving up and down, and armrests.

Many workers are not knowledgeable that the luxurious style of chairs are usually not supportive for back health. These executive kind of office chairs are elegant ,classy and look very sharp. But, many do not provide support to crucial points in the back and spine leaving you to feel tired, stressed, and at times, in pain. Although these kinds are important appearance for associates and customers, they are not necessarily good for health.

Office chairs that have little wheels below are very common. The rollers allow an individual to increase production by allowing movement to various parts of their desk without having to stand, walk, get what you need and then come back. Also, the less one has to get up repeatedly, the less harmful movements one will have to go through.

Height is also noteworthy. Office chairs almost always come with up and down levers. You must verify that the height that the chair is set to is conducive to production and that there is not slouching. Furthermore, your arms must be almost level with the desk and you should never have to hold your neck up or down to see the computer screen. Any type of strain in one part of the back can transfer to others and create strain that can only get worse. If you cannot decide on what type of chair is best, speak to a chiropractor and he/she should be able to suggest one. Back pain and discomfort can be very debilitating and lead to more stress, and ultimately, less happiness and comfort.
