Pros and Cons of Granite Countertops

Granite Countertops formed from compressed molten rock under the surface of Earth. It is hard and durable and made up of mineral crystals. Once the granite is polished, ongoing care is to be taken and its high gloss will last forever. Customers usually prefer the edging type such as curved or straight finish. Instead number of choices for kitchen countertops i.e. granite, marble, synthetic, Granite has the highest resistance capacity such as heat, water, strain or scratch. Its so hard, the normal knives will not give any scratch to the surface and without any hesitation you can place your hot cookware directly on granite without any dull in the finish. It will not chip unless you decide to use a sledgehammer.

In US, Granites are used to remodel and decorate the houses. As many other things, granite also have Pros and Cons.

Pros: Granite countertops value never gets depreciated. It's having a natural surface with luminous look and is heat proof To add value to your home, Granite is the best option. Can be easily cleaned with mild detergent and warm water

Cons: Granite countertops color cant be changed and you need to learn to live with it. Granite is different for each slab, so prefer to have a good choice i.e. variety granite. Uniform look will not be a right option. Granite is less expensive compared to the other material. Granite can be permanently sealed if you seal with a pre-existing stain. It can crack when you hit with a sharp object. Granite requires structural support in spans and cantilevers. Granite cannot be removed and quite difficult which may result in damage once you glued onto the cabinets.

Countertops in Granite are available in different sizes, colors, varieties and grin patterns. The use of Granite gives an elegant look to your house. We cannot compare granite with the other as it differs in many aspects i.e. the combination of elements and its uniqueness and the artistic appeal.

Granite is just a masterpiece of stone and it just cant be matched with any man-made product. The stone colors are awfully vivid and is very rich. The stone has a natural shine and not the result of an applied finish. Generally the shine comes from polishing to keep its high gloss. Granite is a cost effective choice holding its value for the longer period and very attractive, durable. Its the best and easy to maintain.
