That Precious Commodity, Time. Take Time Out From Your Home Based Business!

By Heather Wass

I remember when we started our online marketing business. It was our dream to be able to work from the comfort of home, and have the time to be together. But we soon became so immersed in getting through the overwhelm and work, that days came and went without notice. Our previous life seemed to fade into the background. After a few months or so we couldnt believe we had robbed ourselves of so much interaction with friends and family.

Both uf us have discovered that this is a common occurance for most work at home people like us. There are too many of us internet entrepreneurs driven by the desire to be successful in our chosen online businesses, we forget to stop and smell the roses along the way. Also, many of us believe we are not justified in taking time away from the business at hand, until we have the success we desire.

When we are secluded in the office, it is too easy to shut out the rest of the world. The thinking, that when I just get on top of this or that, finish one more task, then I will join the family, then I will take that walk. It is just crazy .......... for people who have chosen to work at home online, not to enjoy the greatest benefit of all, which is Time. Time for the carefree things of life.

Why do we do this? We miss the point of why we decided to become online marketers in the first place. We dreamed of self employment and being able to work at home, and the lifestyle that we are pursuing. Good business management requires looking after number one ...... You!

These are five very important reasons you should take regular breaks:

1. You need physical down-time. Trying to be super-human sitting on your backside all day is a sure way to burn out. So get out of the office ..... take the kids and the dog for a walk.

2. You need mental down-time. Get out and play, your mind will thank you. Your days are filled with busy, sometimes even hectic, day to day activities related to your business. Getting away from that for a while will ensure peace of mind.

3. Spend quality time with loved ones. You are at home now, and your friends and family see you working so hard. They would really appreciate spending real time with you.

4. Get out and see the world. Or at least, your own back yard!

5. Do fun things you enjoy. Make your office off-limits. Close the door and place a sign on it. Do whatever it takes to keep your mind off working. Think of what you can do within your resources that is fun. Read a good book or just veg-out! You have an incredible life. It is strange how many home business owners do not feel they deserve this. There is always too much to do and not enough hours in the day to do it. Guess what, it is always going to feel that way! Only you have the power to give yourself time off. Just take a day here and a day there away from your internet business, that is a whole lot better than never taking time out. You will feel better about yourself and your work with regular relaxion time. You will be healthier, too!
