Whether you go to New York or New Delhi, London or Tokyo, one of the most common and popular means of transport in these huge urban agglomerations happens to be the subways. This is because subways represent a world of convenience, speed and comfort for commuters. Traffic on contemporary roads in most metropolises is becoming more and more chaotic as town planners have realized that subways are the best alternative in the best interests of better traffic and comfort to commuters, not to mention the fact that it is a lucrative business proposition as well. It is no wonder that more and more cities around the world are opting for subway systems.
Come to think of it, subways are supposed to be the epitome of comfort in intra-city travel, fast and efficient too. It goes without saying that without requisite standards of comfort being met, one would be wont to avoid subways. There has to be enough reason to prefer subway travel over other alternative modes of transport like buses, cabs or even cycling in some cases. It is not so difficult to win the hearts of consumers by installing simple amenities like cup holders in the subway coaches.
When traveling by the subway, it would help if one had the services of a cup holder to carry some coffee or some other beverage that one might have picked up at the subway station on the way to the subway train. Sometimes subways can sway wildly from side to side, which means that without the cup holder there is a serious chance of the contents of one's cup to spill over and create a real mess. Given the crowd in the subway, this is certainly not ideal at all.
The quest to afford comfort to commuters prompts subway authorities to provide subway cars with cup holders that use Velcro and other easy to use fastening material. There are advanced materials which can easily be used with minimum fuss and maximum ease.
It may be possible that many of the subway systems may not have cup holders as it may have escaped the attention of the concerned powers that be. In such a case, it may help to bring it to their attention and help facilitate a situation where cup holders are duly installed in subways.
