Why A Good Movie Persuades You To Perform More In Life

By Moon Love

Have you ever noticed how emotional you can get when you are watching a movie? Movies tend to stimulate the mind and bring up past memories both good and bad. They have to power to take us back into past events that occurred as we relive certain experiences through a particular movie plot.

When you are watching a love story unfolding in a cottage beside a peaceful lake, the scenery combines with the story plot tend to remind us of the first time we fell in love. Scenes like this tend to make us reflect on the first boyfriend or girlfriend you ever had and on the value we once place on small things in a relationship.

Crime moves can you back into a journey of reliving an unpleasant experience. If you have ever been burglarized or robbed, then you understand the emotional impact watching a similar crime story or plot can have on you. Sometimes scenes like this can rekindle emotional anger or deep rage.

The same can be said of true crime stories. I am a big fan of Dateline MBC and every now and then they will do a show on stolen cars. Whenever I watch episodes like those, I am reminded of the day when my own vehicle was stolen and it brings out deep seeded anger. I love it when car thieves are caught.

Comedy or funny movies remind us of the fun times in life. Very often, they take us back to a time when we were involved in something crazy too. It could be as simple as watching the movie Revenge of the Nerds where one college pranks after another was played on a group of nerdy students or as simple as remembering how much fun you had when you play hooky as illustrated in the movie Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Why do moves evoke emotional power over us? There are many reasons. Perhaps the great of all is that most scripted films are based on real life scenarios, regardless of how comical or horrible they may be. It is this emotional connection that makes us sit for hours on end each month watching our favorite movies.

What kind of movies do you like to watch? The type of movies you watch says a great deal about you. People are attracted to certain genres of movies based on a set of particular sociological and psychological characteristics they have acquired as a child. These characteristics are what shaped us and is what causes us to define what we like and dislike in life.

A good film can inspire you to accomplish great things. They can also provide wisdom and insight if the movie you are watching is very similar to your life's present circumstances. Movies will always have a significant place in our lives. They will continue to make us laugh and cry and they will often be the source of unexpected wisdom when we need it the most.
