Some Of The Best Places To Post Job Openings

By Patty Goff

If you run a business, you know how hard it can be to find the right people for the job. Recruiting new employees and training them can be quite a tasking and time consuming activity. This means that you need to find the most suitable employee, who will stay for a long time in the company. For this to happen, you have to ensure that you place your job adverts in the right place, to increase the chances of the right people seeing it. Here are some tips on the best places to post job openings.

If you have a company website, your site should be the first place where you post the vacancies. Ensure that you include as much detail as possible about the qualifications that prospective candidates should have. Also include the description of the job, so that candidates know what they are getting themselves into.

Take advantage of various online portals that post openings. Most of these sites post vacancies for free, though there are some sites where you will be expected to pay for your vacancy to be listed. You can post on more than one site to increase the exposure of your ad. The advantage of posting on such sites is that other smaller sites will repost the ad on various places online, meaning that a lot of people will see the ad.

You can post vacancies on social medial sites. You can post in your account and ask for recommendations from other users who follow you. The best platforms for such adverts are those sites that are meant for professionals. This will increase your chances of finding the right candidates for the job. If people respond to your advert on social media, you can review their social media profiles to gain more insight on the kind of people they are.

You can advertise in newspapers. You can opt to use the classified section. You can also put up large adverts if you can afford it. Ensure that your ads are well written, so as to minimize the number of unqualified people who will apply for the job. You can also opt to use bind ads, which don't state the name of the recruiter.

Trade journals are also a good area to explore. It may be more costly to advertise in trade journals but it is more effective. This is because there are increased chances that you will reach people who have the particular qualifications you are looking for.

Magazines can also be effective. You will have to ensure that your target market reads the magazine. However, you should be aware that the response time can be slow as most magazines are published once a month. Only use this medium if you are not in a hurry to find employees.

Put up posters on various boards that are placed in social places, like outside theaters, department stores or movies. Generally, try and identify spots where your target candidates hang out and see if there is a board where you can hang the poster. You can even hang it in your office if the vacancy is open to your current employees.
