How Can An Accused Secure Release From Jail

By Imee Abijuh

No one wants to stay in jail while waiting for every scheduled court dates and this is why most accused will find all means to get out of the detention cell. There are several options to secure release from jail and every accused can take advantage of each option.

The most popular way of obtaining temporary release from jail is posting bail in cash, which is arguably the quickest way of securing release as well. By depositing the bail amount set by the court, the arrested person will be released on bail, but he should follow certain guidelines that will be set by the judge before his or her release. The cash that was deposited as bail will be returned after the all court hearings as long as the arrested person did not violate any guideline while he was out on bail.

The defendant could also get out of jail by dealing with a Bail Bondsman Dallas agent, who will process all the paper works required to help the defendant avoid prolonging his detainment time. The bonds agent or the bondsman will write a surety bond, assuring the court that he will make sure that the defendant will not skip even one court hearing. For a faster and hassle-free release, make sure to find the most experienced bondsman in the city, who is also capable of writing larger surety bonds.

Securing temporary release through surety bond is more desirable than securing release through cash bail mainly because of the amount of money that the arrested person will need to shed. For cash bail, the full amount of bail should be deposited to the clerk of court. On the other hand, the arrested person will only need to pay a bond premium of 10% of bail amount in exchange for the surety bond.

Aside from cash bail and surety bond, an accused could also use his properties as guarantee or bail. Instead of paying the bail amount in cash, the accused can just surrender valuable properties to secure temporary freedom. However, this is much expensive because the amount of properties should be not lower than 150% of the amount of bail.

Aside from the different ways mentioned above, the defendant can actually be released from police custody without spending even a single centavo for bail. The defendant could request for release on personal recognizance or no-bail release. However, not all defendants are capable of securing this type of release, depending on the seriousness of the committed crime and the previous criminal record of the defendant.

Before formally securing release on a temporary basis, the arrested person will be informed about the different restrictions. The arrested should abide with all the rules set by the court to avoid being arrested once again.
