Important Things To Consider When Concrete Lifting

By Margaret Gonzalez

Concrete lifting is the process by which a structure that is undergoing foundation breakdown is restored to its stable and original status. It involves the art of trying to fill out gaps in the ground that may have been caused by human activity or natural disasters that cause the ground underneath to give way. It should be resolved to avoid breakdown.

There are many reasons that lead to the foundation braking and sinking in structures. The most common is the activities that take place beneath the ground. It is a fact that the nature of the soil upon which your structure rests is important in determining the stability of the building. Structures on loose soil will develop more valleys and gaps with time.

Before you can decide to uplift the slabs that show signs of damage, you need to consider a host of factors. One of them is the soil structure. Soil structure is very important in construction; it affects many things including the choice of design and the size of the building. You must therefore design the repair style based on the kind of soil available.

The other method which is also the latest is the use of polyurethane which is almost similar to mud jacking but more high tech. This method also involves the drilling of holes just like in mud jacking but the holes are much smaller and therefore will leave an even smaller mark on the surface. It takes only about 15 minutes to cure the area completely.

After looking at the circumstances surrounding the structure and possible reasons for collapse of the concretes, you need to be well equipped as well in terms of modern day machinery that can make the task easier. Old methods can deliver results but not as good as the latest developments in the market today that make the job delivery faster.

The time it takes to cure the problem when using the polyurethane method is much less at about 15 minutes as compared to the old system that could take a very long time to accomplish. Clearing the surfaces after repairs when using the mud jacking method is also likely to take longer due to the method as compared to this latest technology.

Investment in the right equipment is an important fact that you need to consider. A suitable firm should have the right equipment needed to undertake such a venture. Drilling the floor for concrete lifting should be done professionally.
