Lost Command: Tgus film is a tight, well-made tale of French-Algerian guerrilla warfare in North Africa, with Quinn as the peasant who has risen to a position of request. Fine global cast, excellent direction, and some top notch action roles mix extremely well. Cast includes Anthony Quinn, Alain Delon, George Segal, Michele Morgan, Maurice Ronet, Claudia Cardinale, Gregoire Asian, and Jean Servais. (130 minutes, 1984)

Bug: Film rendition of Tracy Letts' play is tough to take critically however not without a twist or two if you could acknowledge it as a stunt. This is simply bug versus man. Cast includes Ashley Judd, Michael Shannon, Harry Connick, Jr., Lynn Collins, and Brian F. O'Byrne. (101 minutes, 2007)

Murphy's Romance: Youthful divorcee (with twelve-year-old child) makes new start in little Arizona town, where she's allured to an older laid-back widowed pharmacist. This movie is an intriguing, carefree comedy written by Irving Ravetch and Harriet Frank, Jr. Cast includes Sally Field, James Garner, Brian Kerwin, Corey Haim, Dennis Burkley, Georgann Johnson, and Charles Aisle. (107 minutes, 1985)

Strange Bedfellows: Hudson ambles through another domestic mix-up comedy, this one with spicy Gina and lots of dry humor. This movie is light amusement that was filmed in London. Cast includes Rock Hudson, Gina LolIobrigida, Gig Young, Terry Thomas, and Nancy Kulp. (98 minutes, 1965)

Slaughter's Big Ripoff: A murderer is still playing games with the Mob in this dull actioner. McMahon gives more effort to his role as the mob boss than it merits. Airheads: 3 metalheads with toy guns reluctantly take a music station prisoner, wishing to get play for their one and only demo tape. Not precisely the most difficult subject to satirize, although the script is weakanyway. A somewhat vigorous direction and compact running time help a tad. (91 minutes, 1994)

Red: Very last film in Kieslowski's "3 Colors" trilogy which, like Blue and White, might stand alone with its self contained tale. Fashion model Jacob meets upset, retired magistrate Trintignant accidentally, then creates a relationship with him and enters his cloistered, secret life. Set in Geneva, this is a story of few entangled lives. Cast includes Irene Jacob, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Frederique Feder, Jean-Pierre Lorit, Juliette Binoche, Julie Delpy, and Benoit Regent. (99 minutes, 1994)

Down to You: Prinze and Stiles futilely try to buddy us up by talking straight away into the camcorder, clarifying how their once idyllic college romance went bust (albeit not as bust as the film). In someway, this film manages to find room for subplots in reference to a Television show and a friend who has a try as an adult-film entrepreneur with a sort of bohemian knowledgeable porn actress. Cast includes Freddie Prinze, Jr., Julia Stiles, Shawn Hatosy, Selma Blair, Zak Orth, Ashton Kutcher, Rosario Dawson, Henry Winkler, and Lucie Amaz. (91 minutes, 2000)
