Pressure Washing Is Environmentally Friendly

By Stella Gay

There are all sorts of things flying around, carried by the wind and plastered against your commercial building and your house. Many of these things are dust and other soils. They will stick to anything because of the rain. This means the front of the structure as well as sidewalks and even the glass. The best way to remove all of this is to hire a company who provides the pressure washing others use for this.

This cleaning process, often called pressure cleaning or even power washing uses high pressure water to scrub all surfaces clean of debris, contamination and, usually, oily, sticky material that does not respond to brushes and a bucket. The professionals, who do this every day, are trained in this specialized cleaning method and use the correct equipment to accomplish this.

The pressure that is being discussed is in the commercial range of between 250 PSI to 6500 PSI. The higher the number, the greater the pressure as PSI means pounds per square inch. The mechanical action of the water will agitate the surface and remove even some very dried on material. No chemicals also means no chemical reactions with anything being cleaned.

The water does not need chemicals because of the pressure that is generated. This pressure is helped by the configuration of the various nozzles that are selected for each project. The nozzles are threaded or clamped onto the end of the wand which is held by the crew member. The popular nozzle, for all large, very dirty areas is usually the power head. This consists of open ports that oscillates and surges water in a way that agitates the surface and soils to remove them easily.

The other selections of nozzles includes those that can delicately sweep such things as roofs and walkways clear of nothing more than leaves or small twigs. This can be used on statuary, glass and is shaped like a fan, through the entire 180 degrees of arc. Using the proper nozzle is critical and these professionals will make that selection carefully.

The selection of the proper nozzle is critical when setting up the project and the professionals who do this can make that decision, based on the surface to be cleaned and the nature of the material to be removed. Too high of a pressure, from the machine and an inaccurate choice can etch the surface or break through any protective coatings that may be present.

One of the things that not everyone knows is that these crews, trained in an appropriate way and equipped properly, do not have to stay outside. Food and chemical processing plants will benefit from this cleaning, inside. The chemical free nature of this makes cross contamination or chemical reactions almost non existent.

Holly Springs NC has many high technology firms and businesses. They appreciate and depend on science in manufacturing products that are used throughout the world. The cleaning that can be accomplished uses science to provide it. This will help continue to give NC a step up in products produced, science in general and sanitary conditions second to none.
