Apple Vs. PC For Students

By Franklin Skribbit

We've all seen the advertisements - "Hello, I'm a Mac. And I'm a PC." The Mac advertisers anthropomorphize their products along with the competition in order to get across the message that their product is young and hip. As it is an advertisement it is to be taken with a grain of salt. But as a student one must wonder, is what they are saying really true and should I get a Mac? It may be a question of what came first, the chicken or the egg, but the Mac advertisements have proven to be true in one respect - the younger generations of Americans tend to lean towards Macs while the older generation does not. The main difference between the two systems is that PCs (or Personal Computers) runs Windows, while Apple products use its own system.

One of the most important things to learn when it comes to creative writing is that words are your post powerful tool. Depending on how you use them or don't use them, they can either set you apart as a talented writer or bring you down into the ordinary and mundane. What the world of online writing doesn't need is another mediocre writer whose writing is boring and predictable much less one with poor grammar skills. As SEO becomes more important, writers are outsourced and often don't speak fluent English making their writing choppy at best, downright unreadable at worst.

As a freelance photographer, you must establish yourself as self-employed and authorize your business legally. Once you've established your business' legal status, you have the option to sell your work online through various websites, which proves to be successful for many freelance photographers. Some photographers sell stock photos to large companies and some become successful through networking. Gaining the right knowledge will contribute to your success significantly. There are many options to consider in furthering your education in photography. Depending on your specific needs, you might consider earning a degree in a university setting or you might choose online photography education courses. Some photographers choose to educate themselves through researching online. All will successfully prepare you for your career as a professional photographer.

To add creativity to what could potentially be dull or boring content, consider layout. Readers are more likely to read something that is broken into sections than one long essay. If your article is informative, try to incorporate lists, tables or even images to break up the text. If your article is especially long, summary phrases on the side of your piece can help readers get the idea quickly if they don't have time to read the whole text. Depending on the source for which you are writing, it may even be appropriate to add in different colors and fonts. Whatever you do, make sure your piece is aesthetically appealing and well laid out.

Successful professional photographers also recommend using the best photography equipment. Though they vary in their opinions of which is the best, be reassured that camera companies try to provide top quality equipment. Doing a simple online research for photography equipment will give you insight and help you decide the best brand of equipment for you specifically. Different equipment is required for the variety of genres. If you are pursuing aerial photography, you obviously won't need a tripod, but your camera will require a specific lens. Online blogs are an excellent way to familiarize yourself with photography equipment.

Personally, I have owned and used both Mac and PC computers. In the five years that I have used my Mac notebook, I have not had any major problems with it. It cost a little extra at first, but I will never know exactly how much money I have saved on fixing my laptop or paying for a brand new one. My mother, who adamantly refused to pay the money for a Mac laptop went through a different PC brand every year for 3 years before she realized that it would be more efficient to use a Mac. In the end, the Mac is not just for those looking to pursue visual design, but for anyone that wants to use a fast, advanced computer to get the job done.
