By Deborah Ariano

If you really want to get a lot of social traffic to your website or blog, using Google or Direct Connect may certainly help. There are more people using these social platforms than you think. Diehard Google fans, and people that are not fans at all, have heard how Google isn't exactly living up to expectations. Lots of people steal content and use it illegally on their websites which is why this topic is so popular. Have you heard of Google authorship coding? This can be used on your site to protect this content. Essentially, this is Google's way of alerting people that you are the owner and rightful author of the content there.

Getting exposure with your feed is easy as there are so many directories to submit it to. Even though getting backlinks was a very popular strategy for RSS feeds and directories, this is not so true anymore. You should still submit your feed to directories and definitely take advantage of Feedburner. You'll be able to gain even more exposure with it and use your feed in more versatile ways.

If you are serious about social networking, you need to use Google Circles. You can interact with like-minded people that do IM or whatever it is that you do online. Just by filling out your profile information, this will allow you to be visible to others on the web.

Change on the Internet is the only constant there, and the many billions of people on our planet are helping to escalate this change. The changes, believe it or not, are because of the people, not Google, despite the fact that many businesses will tell you different.
