If you need to have a nice basement, you should probably have basement carpet. It had been my dream for a long time to turn our drab basement into a multimedia room worthy of a mighty king. For as long as we had owned our home, we had been using our basement to store various boxes and old toys, along with my wife's unused treadmill. Of course it is handy to have a storage room to throw all of our unwanted junk and have it out of the way, but I truly longed for a nice TV room down there where I could have my pals over to watch the big game on a big screen TV.
For years, I had wished to make my dream come true, but every time I went down to our basement and saw the concrete floor and lack of walls, I was discouraged. The other issue was the money, or the lack of it, since we were absolutely not in a very good financial position at that point in time.
I had a change of fortune one day, however, when I bought a lottery ticket at a little gas station on my way home from work one night. I have been known to buy a ticket from time to time, but I was stunned to have actually won. I ran home to tell my wife about the great news and she was as happy as I was. It wasn't enough money to make us rich, but it was enough for us to be able to finish our basement and I saw that my dream could at last be a reality.
My wife wasn't completely on board with the idea of using the money to build a multimedia room in the basement, but after a while, she caught the vision and agreed that it would be nice to have. We hired someone to come in and do the framing and sheetrocking, while I shopped for my new entertainment system, finally ordering one online. I could hardly wait for them to get here, and I sat with great anticipation to find them at my door. Of course, I knew that we would need some basement carpet before putting all of the electronics down there, but I assumed that it would just be a matter of wandering into a flooring store and picking out something.
My wife believed we should be more careful and look at a lot of different carpets. After looking at a few stores and not finding what we wanted, we decided to look online and found a great carpet that was just right. We bought the carpet and agreed for them to come and deliver and install it, which they did very promptly. Now, my basement is all set up and is everything that I hoped it would be.
