Injured By Personal Injury Lawyers

By Anthony Cooper

Rather than achieve his third decade of retirement like most men his age do this lawyer went against the norm and simply chose to set up a second law firm. For this 87 year old who is one of the nation's best known personal injury lawyers marching into his longtime office with half a dozen guards has been motivated by his characteristic nerve and verve. Deciding after a feud that he had with his partners his guards stood sentry as he emptied out his desk and pulled his name from the door.

Responsible for the daily trials in his firm is his new partner and prot'g , who is a no nonsense lady lawyer and former assistant Queens district attorney because he seldom goes to court nowadays. Unheard of settlements and millions for himself not to mention victories in unwinnable cases have been possibilities for this lawyer because of his passion for perfection, endless energy, gift for showbiz glitz, and enormous ambition.

He got the name The Equalizer and he got $740,000 for the family of a heart attack victim as he justified how the victim was scared to death by a car that drove onto his lawn. A guest encountering a shark attack was blamed by him on an Acapulco hotel. It was according to him that the hotel failed to give a warning to the guests about how sharks might be invited by the garbage they are dumping into the ocean.

In terms of the employment of 120 full time personal injury lawyers plus an expected payment from New York City this year totaling $175 million he is proud to say that these are of his doing. For the lawyers who are a part of tort or personal injury law, the contingency fee basis of payment applies where a third of all awards go to them. Most of the time people say that the aggressive personal injury lawyers are responsible for the skyrocketing costs of insurance and a waste of the people's money in suits against the city governments and he despises these statements.

Emotion is an aspect he works well with as he can easily sway people by mentioning how a poor devil somewhere is now lying paralyzed in a hospital bed which is probably the vilest of all kinds of confinement known to man. It is easy for him to deal with juries for he has the finesse of a symphony conductor. It is possible for a decision to go against you if a jury is bored.

His success is deeply rooted in his meticulous researching. He always sees to it that he has not overlooked any law that would lead to him being proven wrong. Bringing ambulance chasing to a whole new level is his line of work which enable him to get on the pages of Time Magazine and Wall Street Journal.

You will not see this man talk about himself or his practice with humility. There is no lawyer who is good at cases without being vain. Mixing together vanity, confidence, and respect is a good thing. Considering the details of his personal and professional life, these are being overseen by the 33 year old woman he and his wife adopted. As said by his former partners, the wedge that drove them apart resulted from this owner of a Mexican restaurant and ever present assistant. He gained a new view when it came to certain things.

1929 was when he graduated from Brooklyn Law School after his Ukrainian family immigrated to New York when he was 6 and during this time all of the good legal work went to the politically connected Irish firms. It was during this period that nothing but minor criminal cases and personal injury lawsuits were left to Jewish attorneys like him.
