Dental Marketing For Non-Marketers

By Adam Carter

When someone suffers a tooth ache and requires immediate care, one must question how they choose their dentist. Dental marketing can help ensure that nearby residents will choose one dentist over another. The good news is that there are a number of professionals in the United Kingdom who provide this service.

In 2013, the National Health Service has allotted thirty million pounds to help pay for new patients requiring care from dentists. With this incentive in place, this is the perfect time for dentists to begin advertising their services. The government plan has been established hoping to improve oral health within the population by increasing access to these services.

Even when the dentist is a die hard professional, that does not mean he or she is prepared to approach the task of marketing on their own. Periods of stagnation in obtaining new patients prevent the practice from growing and expanding. By having an advertising professional on the job, the dentist can make the most of this thirty million pounds the government is spending.

The old fashioned brochure is still a great method for keeping new patients coming back. Basic dentistry such as cleanings or fillings are the most common reason people go, but a brochure can provide the patient with a listing of all other procedures available, including cosmetic options. Anyone who wants to make their smile the best it can be is likely to come back for these treatments once they know what is available.

Another excellent method of advertising is through colleague referral. This is especially true with dentists and orthodontists who can refer patients back and forth to one-another depending on their needs. A teen may need braces, or a young adult may have just had braces removed and is in need of a new dentist.

Magnets with the business name and general contact information are another option that a dentist can utilize. Having these magnets sent out in a mass mailing to local residents makes their office the most convenient for new patients to contact, as most people will attach such a magnet to their refrigerator right away. This method really works in circumstances where the patient requires emergent care.

This is a great time for dentists to hire a firm for dental marketing. Between the government incentive program, and the availability of services, any dentist can grow their business. By expanding their services to new clients, not only does the dentist benefit, but the community as a whole receives the care they need.
