A Terrific Service Advisor Could Mean Great Success For Your Automotive Service Center

By Tia M. Zimmerman

Automotive service centers depend greatly on several different things that help drive their business and help it function, but a service advisor that is good at what he or she does is one of the most important pieces of the entire business. The role this person will play within your company is vital to make sure various tasks are being carried out and completed in accordance with the expectations of your customers and that your customers are always aware of and satisfied with the services they are receiving.

Since your customers are the most important thing to your business, the person who is in charge of making sure they keep coming back is practically just as important. The easiest way for you to make sure you customers are so pleased with your services that they decide to come back to you every single time they need a repair and tell all of their acquaintances about how great your services are is to have a good service advisor working for you.

These particular crew members are the ones responsible for dealing with your customers and anything they might need. When a customer brings in an automobile for repairs, it is the advisor's job to talk to them about what's wrong with the car, explain to them what the problem must be and what they will have to do to fix it, and offer them a price quote and end up carrying out the final transactions.

You could nearly think of your advisor as your customer service representative, but their tasks actually go well beyond simply greeting everyone who walks through the door and taking their orders. They are given the task of relaying all of the customers' concerns about their vehicles to the technicians that work in the shop and helping them find a good starting point for their repairs through troubleshooting. In turn, they will have to be able to take all of the findings they got from actually working on the car and turn it all into layman's terms so that the customer's can understand exactly what was done to their vehicle and why they were charged what they were.

Any individuals with enough knowledge and training in the automotive service industry would be ideal candidates as long as they also are good with people. No matter where you look or where you end up finding them, having an excellent service advisor is one of the greatest things you could do for your automotive service company.
