The following are some of the basic instructions that apply to most of the carpet steam cleaners and should be utilized in conjunction to using the particular directions that come together with your machine.

Remove all furniture from the room, large furniture such as couches and entertainment centers can be left in the room, but beware since you will not have the ability to clean the all the carpet in the room which might lead to discolorations within the carpeting. So it is recommended to remove all furniture if possible.

Vacuum the carpet thoroughly, such as any edges and corners.
