An Unforgettable Holden Beach Vacation

By Dina Treblowe

A Holden Beach vacation in North Carolina is primarily for families. It is one of the best beach vacation spots in the United States primarily because you can see beautiful and scenic beaches, which you can enjoy especially on hot summer days.

Aside from swimming in the clear, blue sea and enjoying the mild and balmy weather almost all-year round, you can also do a lot of activities such as tasting the delicious foods in several restaurants near the beach, shopping for souvenirs in different stores, enjoying the rides in amusement parks, and a lot more.

However, if you want to fully enjoy what the beaches and the Atlantic Ocean have to offer, then you should try the following activities.

Kayaking. This activity is not just for rivers or lakes. You can do this during your vacation in the Holden Beach. Just rent a kayak and head for the ocean with your friends and families. It is very interesting to go kayaking especially in a day without clouds to observe the wildlife under the crystal blue water.

Clamming. This might sound too tame or boring to some but clamming is a very fun activity, which the whole family-from the youngest to the oldest-can enjoy. Just prepare all the equipment that you will need and go to the sandy dunes in the beach and look for clams.

Bring a bucket with you with fresh water. This is where you will put all the clams that you have found. Force their shells to open after soaking in the fresh water for quite some time.

After you get tired searching for clams, you can have a clam bake party and bake delicious and fresh clams, which everybody can enjoy.

Shark Fishing. If looking for clams sounds too mild for you, shark fishing might sound too terrifying. Actually, it is not. Children who are at least 10 years old can even enjoy this. You will go in the middle of the ocean with baits and poles and wait for sharks. This activity is best for those adventure-loving and excitement-seeking individuals.
