The Ancient Carbon Fiber Cloth And Its Benefits

By Linda Cantrell

If you happen to check your iPhone, you could express that it is one of the best phones out there. In fact, its exterior looks very sexy which makes it very tempting to hold it. It is because the physical cover of the phone is built with the oldest non metallic material called Carbon. Aside from the applications done on iPhone, things that surround you could also be made of this component.

Mentioning about it, Carbon Fiber Cloth is a product of processing it and is heavily used worldwide. The name might appear new but it has been long used by manufacturers giving it various nomenclatures. As a matter of fact, the military and aerospace sector have exclusively used this element in the past until the recent time.

Because of its strength and weight ratio, researchers have been interested in it and started to use it through certain projects particularly in defense and exploration. However, the cost of coming up with this before was extremely high and so it was only reserved for the most essential industries. As decades passed, its price had also lowered down due to massive production and so it became accessible to a wide range of consumers.

Car manufacturers have also begun to experiment in using it. In fact, many of them conceptualized it along with the desire of better cars with less emission and fuel efficiency years when carbon was still very expensive. If it only was accessible during those days, cars in the 70s would have been created partially with the material. Today, most cars are built using the material and look at it, there are billion of cars manufactured everyday.

The efficient properties of Carbon made it a favorite target of builders and manufacturers. It is far way durable and stronger compared to steel and aluminum and looks good when used as exterior. The greatest inventions and flying crafts have many parts which are created from its filament. When these materials are treated with resins, they become stronger and lightweight. Few of the industries that uses this fiber are the police enforcement and technology industry.

Police enforcement found gold with this strong filament. Aside from being used in the military, crime fighters adopted it to their bulletproof vest because of its strength. Moreover, they also need to move quick and the lightness of the material makes it possible for them.

Technology advancement, however, caused a problem such as steel and iron resources depletion. Fortunately, carbon fiber can serve as alternative for this lack of supply. Chiefly, the software industry revolution increased the need for it especially most of these companies aim for efficiency. In actual fact, iPods, computer units, computer and mobile cases are now often made out of its filament.

Even if this element have been around us for centuries, still, more companies need to see and experience its efficiency. Possibly, if the cost of production keeps on hitting the ground there would be a great demand for the element throughout the globe. As a consequence, there will be more products for consumers that are durable but affordable.

In the end, we still do not know the other possibilities of this material. Researchers might found other uses of it in the future. Right now, we just have to enjoy the things made out of it.
