Selecting Promotional Products For Use

By Sam Middleton

Marketing is an activity that each business has to perform if it hopes to make improve its clientele base. Promotional products can be very helpful in helping create a lasting impression on the mind of a consumer. These are items that are often given away on trade shows, during business meetings and also when launching new products.

The process of identifying and creating such items is quite lengthy. It all starts by examining the company logo and establishing the various ways on how it can be used. A logo is very important as it can be used to differentiate between various products in the market.

Apart from the company image, the team will also have to come up with a catch phrase to be used. Catch phrase makes it easy to remember a product. The catchier a phrase is deemed to be, the higher the likelihood that the firm will experience an increase in sales.

Selection of items should not be left to a single person. A firm should seek to use items that it has not used in previous promotions. The individuals tasked with this duty can look at different items including custom t-shirts, cups, plates, branded pens and folders and also notepads that can be handed out during meetings.

Selection is not the final process. All the selected items must be put through a screening process. Screening is done to determine how effective each item will be in making the marketing campaign a success. Each item that was selected earlier will have to be rated during screening by a panel of judges.

Screening then leads to the selection of a printing firm. The printing firm will take the logo and the texts identified earlier and embed these on the items that have been selected for use. The company must therefore settle on a reputable firm.

To ensure that only the best firm is selected, all identified firms can be asked to present samples of previous works. By looking at such samples, one is able to establish the type and quality of work provided by the firms in question. This can then be used in choosing the printing firm to award the tender.

A company looking to select promotional products for use can always look through the web for inspiration. From here, it can pick a few days which can then be taken through a voting process. The items with the highest number of votes can then be selected for use in the upcoming campaign.
