The Steps In Learning Morse Code

If learning Morse Code is your wish, you can actually do it. With these tips, master it just like how you master a new language. Here is how you should get started.

In studying this method, you can start with listening to slow recordings. There will be a series of beep that you will hear. The long beeps are called dahs and the short ones are dits. Each English alphabet has its equivalent combination each and are separated by short pauses. Words are separated by triple pauses.

You also need to refer to the alphabet of this unique language. At first you can use a basic chart as a beginner. Eventually you can turn to the more advanced one which includes punctuations, abbreviated phrases and other signs. The beep that you will be hearing should be matched up with the letters in the alphabet.

Practice is really needed for one to grasp the matter faster. Try translating basic words to start with. Write them down on a piece of paper and also speak them out loudly. You may also transmit children's stories for more practice. Eventually, you will discover that you have already familiarizes the method.

Start memorizing the simple letters first like A before proceeding to the more difficult ones. Common letters are best studied as they are mostly used in words and sentences. Until then, you can easily learn the rare letters. You can also associate each letter for some sound alike things for better retention.
