Try These Easy Computer Repair Ideas Before Calling A Technician

By Burt Nichols

Working from home the PC may be the source of income for your household. It can create a sense of panic if suddenly it does not work. Computer repair can begin with some basic steps you can do yourself.

It sounds silly but if it does not power up it could be the power cable is unplugged. It may just be loose from the socket or the power strip could have been accidentally turned off. If it is plugged in correctly you can unplug the PC or power strip and plug it into a different wall socket.

If the workstation has power but the screen is blank you may not realize it could still be a power issue. You might check the both the monitor plug as well as the power cord to make sure both are secure. You may also recheck the monitor power button to make sure the screen is turned on.

Maybe the PC boots up and the monitor is brightly lit yet you cannot access Windows. Check to see if you left a compact disc in the drive. Restart your PC after removing the disc and Windows should easily load.

If you found the drive was clear then the next step may be using the F8 key to access Safe Mode. You can restart the PC and while it is booting up press the F8 key. This can allow you to run diagnostic tools Windows has built into the software. You might also check for Trojan viruses and other spy ware that may have attached itself to your drive.

A PC not starting up can cause some concerns if you work from home. Computer repair can be expensive and possibly create a loss of income if you are self employed. By checking out these easy steps first, you might save the time and money.
