Flexible Solar Panel

Solar batteries will help power ones cordless devices with simple sunlight.

They do this using a flexible solar panel to charge an internal electric battery pack in the device you can use later if desired.

Smaller versions of these solar batteries widely-used to produce electricity for cell phones or lap tops and can add hours of use to these products when fully charged.

Solar batteries also create a great portable power supply for camping or use in a rural vacation cabin. This kind of system usually includes a portable solar panel that is attached to a controller unit. The controller unit contains the batteries and trickle charges them with the electricity from the solar panels.

When they are fully recharged, the controller can be disconnected from the solar panels and taken with you to provide power wherever you need it. Most of these systems feature controllers that can supply both 12VDC power as well as standard residential 120VAC power.

They typically have a set of standard connectors built into them where it is possible to plug in the lighting and appliances you would like to power using the system. When you return home from your trip, you can simply plug the controller into the solar panel to charge the batteries so they are ready when you need them next or you can take your solar panel along with you to help keep your controller completely charged.

To power your house you will need a rather different set up. You will need solar power panels mounted in an array to provide your house with adequate electrical power. In addition to store the power you will need a bank of deep cycle solar batteries so you will have power when the Sun isn't shinning.
