Market America Scam. Is Market America a Pyramid Scheme?

By Mathew S. Robar

Is Market America a scam or pyramid scheme? We will examine precisely this in the following review.

Market America is headquartered in North Carolina and was founded in 1992 by James Ridinger. Mr Ridinger was formerly with Amway.

Market America has also made famous the ability to own a franchise without all the hassles. They call it the "unfranchise."

Market America acts as a broker. They start by finding a niche and contracting a manufacturer.

Market America will then puts its sales force to work by having them distribute and sell the product all across the states on a comission basis.

As for the business structure, it is a network marketing opportunity. Each unfranchise owner running their own independent business and downline.

This again uses leverage to drive sales for the person at the top. Market America also uses business volume to determine comissions.

The BV system works like a point system. Say for every 100 dollars spent, you get 80 BV. Once your BV gets to a certain level, you get paid.

You should also know, that as in other network marketing companies, you are encouraged to buy products and begin recruiting from within your "warm market" which typically includes your family and friends.

Hotel meetings and product parties are also the norm in this business structure. If this sounds like something you would like to participate in, than Market America could be a good fit.

Market America is not a scam. They are in fact a legitimate business that sells products.

It is now up to you to determine if you see yourself in a structure like the one mentioned above.

Good Luck out there!
