Tips For Your Next Product Launch Event

By Sara Reighard

If you are trying to set yourself apart from the competition, it helps to continuously develop new products or perhaps new services for your clients. Once you develop this new product, you need to present it to the world, and a well-planned product launch is just thing that can generate interest in your company.

Product launch event planning should begin once you are in development with your new service or product. While there are certainly some details you cannot plan far in advance, you can define your goals, your audience and your message very early on. Your audience might be potential clients in your trade or it might be the consumer or perhaps you will focus on a media launch. Each audience is unique and you need to craft the event specifically for the group attending. You also need to have clear goals for this event, as this helps you stay focused.

After your goals and audience have been determined and you know when the product will be ready for presentation, set a date for your product launch and start getting people excited about the event. Send out invitations to guests and invite more people than your venue can hold. Keep in mind that some people will cancel and you never want to launch a product to an empty room. Social media offers a great way to publicize the event and generate excitement leading up to the launch. Be sure to post plenty of pictures and videos during the launch and after the event is over, as well.

When you plan the activities and details, be clever but not too clever. A subtle approach is best as too much can seem a bit desperate. Plus you want the focus to stay on the new product and if there is too much distraction, it can be overwhelming and your message will get lost. You want people to have fun and mingle and ask questions, but you want the main focus to be on your new product. You also want to make the experience interactive as much as possible, so that people can truly understand how this product is to be used.

You definitely want to provide attendees with something to eat and drink, and you should think beyond coffee and cookies or muffins and provide them with a good variety. Some light appetizers and a good selection of beverages make people happy and encourage socialization. It's always wise to think about the time of day that you set your product lunch and afternoon is a great time. People can work in the morning, attend your launch and then head off to a nearby restaurant to grab dinner and perhaps even continue socializing with your staff and other attendees.

When selecting your New York product launch venue, consider renting a sophisticated loft. Home Studios, for example, offers two different spacious lofts that are ideal for product launches, corporate events and even photo shoots and filming locations. The lofts are spacious and feature fully functional gourmet kitchens as well as additional offices where you can hold meetings. There is a dedicated client phone line in each loft, and, of course, there is wireless internet throughout the loft. Each loft is accessible by freight elevator or passenger elevator, so you will have no trouble bringing in equipment, products and other items.
