Products

You must always remember the core to any Network Marketing / MLM business is products or services with solid quality. Only when there is a good product will there be repeated sales. Without repeated sales, the foundation of the business model wont be strong.

Without clear product and service lines, the company may be operating on a quich money earning scheme. These are scams. In the long run, you will not be able to sustain your income and company may close due to the reduction of new incomers.

Compensation Schemes

There are many types of compensation plans around, and they all have their different characteristics, and may suit different people. But when assessing companies you should look at the company's maximum payout, on one sale.

Typically, the Maximum commission paid out to all the different levers should be around 50-60%. Anything above 70% is good for the short term, but the company may be over paying. The company may not be able to sustain for long.

If the maximum commission is anything lower than 30%, you should start thinkin where did the rest of the money gone to.

Background Study

It is good to find out the history and backgroung of the comapny before joining. Does the company have experience running a Network Marketing / MLM company? What was the company doing before this. This may not be your main selection criteris, but it is good to know.

Accreditations

Look for the company's accreditations award. Some of the basic ones are Direct Selling Association (DSA) in the respective country. When the company has alot of accreditations, it signals that the company is in good health, and should be safe to join.
