By David Davis

As a matter of fact, some women have too small or uneven or breasts with a shape they do not desire. Nevertheless, breast augmentation is performed as a remedy. Usually, women who qualify for this procedure are the one with shrunken breasts due to pregnancy or weight loss or those whose breasts failed to develop. Other women simply want a shape they desire. Central Florida breast augmentation is not only performed to enhance appearance but has other benefits as well. Such benefits are such as improving self-esteem and enhancing social and career opportunities.

Basically, breast augmentation is a surgical procedure performed to enhance the shape and size of breasts. This procedure is performed by placing saline, silicone or composite implants under the breasts tissue or chest muscle. On average, the implant lasts about 7-12 years.

However, you can perform the process as a reconstructive and cosmetic surgical procedure. You can do the reconstructive surgery during the breast cancer treatment, but you can often achieve a cosmetic process for a reason of aesthetic. However, breast augmentation is performed typically for cosmetic reasons. Breast implants basically are the medical prosthesis you place in your breasts to augment or reconstruct the breasts physical appearance.

These implants are mainly of three types. The first type is the saline implants that usually contain a solution of sterile saline such as salt water. The solution is usually held in a silicone shell. However, the implant could as well be filled with another type of saline solution. The solution in the shell usually affects the firmness, feel as well as the shape of the breast. However, in case of the saline solution leaks, it is absorbed in the body and expelled naturally out of the body.

The other implant type is a silicone gel implant. The implant consists of a shell made of silicone which contains silicone gel. When leakage occurs, this gel remains inside the shell or may go to the breast pockets of the implants. However, after leakage, the implant may either collapse or retain the shape. There is also the alternative composite implant that might contain polypropylene string, or soy oil or even other materials.

Typically, it is necessary for you to be keen before you plan to undertake this type of surgical process. Before this procedure, your surgeon needs to advise you in the selection of the proper size of the implant. You may place the different size of implants in your bra and feel them to assess the adequate size of your breasts.

During this process, your doctor typically uses the general anesthesia, and you remain asleep during the whole process. However, you can use the local anesthetic, and you mainly stay awake during the procedure. After the procedure, you have some swellings, but they disappear after two weeks. Besides, the lines of incision fade.

On the other hand, this procedure has some risks and complications as well. Some of the complications are such as infections, pain, and hardening. In some cases, additional surgery may be performed to treat such complications. Other complications are such as sensitive breasts, leaking implants, fluid accumulation, and bleeding.
