Google+: The Do's And Don'ts Internet Marketing Companies Will Stress

By Rob Sutter

Google+ is, without question, one of the most overlooked social media platforms today. This shouldn't be the case, as it's brimming with features and packed with potential. Any Internet marketing company will tell you the same, but it's important to know how the potential in question can be unlocked. If you'd like to learn more, here are some of the do's and don'ts that should help you get the most out of said platform.

DO focus on the services of Google+. According to authorities like www.fishbat.com, some services stand out on Google+ more than others. For example, if you want to create spreadsheets or written documents in your browser, this social network has you covered. You can also use said network to email and direct message your contacts. These are just a few services that you can use in order to enhance your business.

DON'T forget to use hashtags. If there's one thing that Google+ should teach you, it's that Twitter isn't the only social media site that uses hashtags. As a matter of fact, you can incorporate them into your Google+ content, ensuring that it's easily trackable and able to be searched. However, you have to make sure that these tags are relevant to whatever you're posting. Only then will you be able to find the success you're looking for.

DO get involved in communities. Social media sites live and die based on how involved their communities are. Fortunately, Google+ is robust in this sense, allowing you to not only create your own groups but network with preexisting ones as well. What this means is that you can both start conversations and get involved in ones that are already happening. Getting involved, in this sense, comes recommended by reputable Internet marketing companies.

DON'T omit your other links. What if you have an official website? What if you've owned a Facebook or Twitter account for a while? If these situations apply to you, understand that adding these links to your Google+ account matters. People will be able to follow you on different channels this way. It also doesn't hurt that there will be something of an SEO benefit due to more high-quality links. By no means should these be omitted.
