Facebook's M: Can It Help Internet Marketing Companies?

By Robert Sutter

If you are someone who owns an iPhone, chances are that you have used the services of Siri more than a few times. This has been utilized in order to access a tremendous amount of information, ranging from useful trivia to nearby restaurants and movie theaters. If you'd like to know what Facebook has recently announced, it comes down to one letter: M. The following details, which may be provided by Internet marketing companies, will pique your interest.

For those who to dot know, M is the virtual assistant that is attached to Facebook's Messenger mobile app. Essentially, when you get in touch with this feature, you will be granted help that one might associate with Siri. For example, if you are taking part in holiday shopping and you're curious to know where to best place to find clothing is, M can offer suggestions. This is one of the ways in which the Messenger app can be made worthwhile.

Keep in mind, though, that M is more than just a virtual component and several lines of code. You may want to know that real people are actually behind this feature and the way that it functions on a regular basis. M combines artificial intelligence with the human effort of Facebook employees, thereby allowing said virtual assistant to stand out. Even with this benefit in place, one has to wonder if Facebook's take on the virtual assistant concept will be able to take off.

Execution will ultimately determine the success of M, which I'm sure all Internet marketing companies will be able to attest to. I believe that it's important to note the competition have M has, according to firms such as fishbat, especially when Siri, Cortana, and the like have become so useful. In this regard, Facebook's efforts may be at a disadvantage. With that said, if the aforementioned marriage of AI and human effort is carried out, it's easy to imagine that further success can be reached.

Competition is the key factor that goes into the improvement of any company. I am sure that anyone who is familiar with Siri and other virtual assistants can agree, which is why I think that M can have a positive impact in the long run. Facebook is a well-known entity, and it's easy to see that many of its users take advantage of the Messenger app. As a result, I have to believe that M is a promising feature that should not be overlooked.
