How To Make A Homemade Flashlight

By Maryl Joop

Flashlights can come in handy in many different situations, but they can become nearly necessary in certain emergency situation. From a long power outage at home to being stranded on a dark roadside, having an emergency flashlight on hand can make all the difference.

Accept the Hard Truth

A great philosopher once said, "Sexy beats cannot burst forth from stock speakers", and he was right. Ah, I hear you protesting now, "But my speakers are really good! The salesperson told me so!" Actually, the salesperson did what he or she was trained to do, lie outrageously to your face. While your stock car speakers may be better than your friend's, they are still what we in the business refer to as "utter crap". Think about it; unless you're driving around in an Aston Martin, the last thing your car's manufacturer thought about when designing your vehicle was the quality of speakers. Also, if you do own an Aston Martin and you're reading this, what the heck are you doing surfing the Internet? Go spend every waking moment of your life in that thing. As far as the rest of you are concerned, face the fact that your speakers are more useful as doorstops and get rid of them. You deserve better.

Whether you want to cook your items on a stove or grill, you should make it a point to bring one of these appliances along with you. Certain campgrounds have cabins, which will provide you with a kitchen and enough room to store all your food. A lot of people refuse to look at this new style of camping as actual camping. Anyone who decides to dabble in it is usually seen as being unable to handle the rigorous nature of "roughing it." You should not hesitate when you have the option to go to one of these destinations. They provide you with the opportunity of being able to enjoy a lot of the elements of nature without having to risk anything.

Now that you have cleansed your car of mediocrity, it is time to consider what amazingness you shall replace it with. It is important to remember that while replacing your car speaker system represents an investment, it need not absolutely demolish your wallet. Calm your fears, and take to the Internet (unless you own an awesome car, in which case you should be driving around in it at all times, we already covered this). Read up on the reviews of various speakers in your budget and find something that has high sound fidelity and appropriate power for your car. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that louder equals better. Many people seem to think this is the case and act out this fantasy by purchasing subwoofers that shatter the eardrums of infants as they drive by, not realizing that everybody within half a mile is plotting their untimely demise.

Next, one will want to cover one end of the cardboard tubing being used with tape so as to seal the end and prevent the batteries from falling out of the make-shift flashlight. After this is done, carefully place the battery with the wire taped to it into the tubing with the positive side up so that wire runs from the bottom of the sealed tube up vertically out the top of the tube.

Insert the second battery negative side down (so that power can transfer from one battery to the next) with the wire running alongside both batteries. At this point, the cardboard tubing should be sealed on one side with batteries placed positive to negative within it and a wire running the entire length of the inside of the tube and attached to the bottom (negative) side of the first battery.

Nobody can tell you how to assemble the perfect stereo system for your car. It is a process that requires much meditation and concentration, like executing a triple backflip or building a lightsaber. All you should believe is that you need one, because only after you've installed your new sound factory will you discover a level of driving pleasure you have never before experienced.
