The Various Forms Of Annoying Customers You Can Expect To Encounter As A New Business Owner

By Carroll Mcintosh

When running a new business, you will quickly find out people are in some cases absolutely stark raving mad. From the customer that cries, to the nutter that turns up at your home, you will meet all sorts off weird people. These are five particular favourites.

The first customer to introduce you to is the know-it-all. They have a PHD in what you do. Beware this customer, for their knowledge and intelligence would make Einstein turn in his grave. The know-it-all customer will tell you how to do your job, assuming you are utterly incapable and are beneath them. It is perhaps ironic that it is normally this customer that manages to break things. As you might have guessed, it is physically and intellectually impossible that it might be their fault.

Dealing with the melodramatic customer is like watching a bad soap opera. Sheer panic is what they do at the mildest of things. While the melodramatic customer isn't a bad apple, they are generally a pain. Because of their worrying nature, they cannot wait for something to be fixed. Watch this customer implode when things go wrong. This is normally all over something incredibly insignificant. Just wait for them to start crying down the phone.

You will just love the royalty customer. Given the opportunity, they'd love to sign their emails in royal ink. This customer will communicate with you, whether it be by email or phone as if they are conducting an official state visit. Watch your words with this customer. You are beneath this customer. The royalty customer also assumes that all your other customers are largely insignificant and are to be served after they have finished. This is the customer you want to meet down a dark alleyway.

We will introduce the cheap-ass customer shortly, as they are very like the devious customer. The devious customer spends their days labouring away on your website, checking prices. This customer will always take advantage of special offers and try and switch to that package. In their mind, you are overpriced and they are paying too much. They never pay their bills on time, and they will constantly gripe at how expensive you are.

Finally, meet the devious customer. They are similar to the cheap customer, but with an added shade of nastiness. They will twist any situation to their own advantage. They will employ every underhand tactic to get their own way. As with the above customers, it is best to turn away their business given a choice! Remember though, not all customers are like this. Problem customers account for a small minority.
