Why Artisan Soap Makes The Best Gift

By Pamela Gibson

Sometimes getting a soap that does what it is supposed to do can be a challenge. This holds especially true when the product has been heavily advertised in various mediums and the brand is believed to be trustworthy. Even though every product works differently for every individual, one thing that is common is the use of pure ingredients. More people find that using artisan soap every day is the best way to for skin to be properly hydrated.

What separates this type of soap from others is the scent. Many crafters use real ingredients to get an aroma that comes directly from nature, not a chemical that is either too strong or comes off as artificial. By using real flowers, plants, and moisturizers, a scent that is natural is also the most likely to be inoffensive to others.

Glycerin soaps are not only gentle to the skin but are most ideal for problems like acne, psoriasis, or oiliness. These also have a lower ph, which gives the texture more elasticity. Most people realize that natural softness does not have to come from expensive beauty products sold only at premium retailers.

Most people also associate certain scents with being clean, especially if it is strong or lingers hours after bathing. Even if these products are on the pricey side, this does not make them ideal for daily use. Anyone who has to follow their cleansing routine with a generous layer of lotion may find that their daily cleansing product is to blame.

When the skin is dry or sensitive, it has a hard time fighting off airborne radicals on its own. Many people have been conditioned to believe that harsh cleansers are the only arsenal needed but this often makes the problem worse. From alcohol based astringents to moisturizers that only clog pores, this makes the cleansing process more difficult.

Whereas people gave gift baskets containing body washes, creams, and lotions to encourage layering of scents, most people would rather do everything in one shot. Getting a good clean without dryness and a pleasant scent is usually enough to get the average person ready for the day. When skin starts off soft, there is usually little need to keep slathering on lotion throughout the day.

Because there are no additives, the shelf life of these cleansers is limited. However, just like the food most of us eat, anything that is enhanced with preservatives is not good to consume every day. The same theory applies to skincare and hair products.

Because this type of cleanser is so visually appealing, it makes a nice gift. There are many scents from which to choose and there are even some formulas that can minimize the appearance of acne scars and other imperfections. Some soap makers also have hair products and other accompaniments that are made from the same nutrient rich ingredients.
