It is only after passing the exam will a person be shortlisted on the eligibility list for placement.

A lot of people who have sat for this exam can attest to the fact that it is not easy. Persons who do not prepare well for the test end up failing and this means that they have to wait for another year to sit for the test again. For those who pass, their score will determine how far to a promotion on the eligibility list they will be. Therefore persons ought o get great scores to place them in a good position on the list.

Only persons who set aside time and ensure to follow a good study plan can pass this test. The most important thing that one can ensure is studying early and often for this exam. This means that persons should shun last minute cramming and trying to understand all materials at once as this is a recipe for failing.

Usually, several of months before this test, candidates are usually provided with publications so that they understand what is expected of them. But an individual does not have to wait until the publication is released so as to begin the studies. One can begin reading a publication of the previous years as the material covered from year to year does not really change much.

To get other learning materials, a person can go to the local libraries or search in various online sites. After which the person should ensure to always read. Time should be set aside daily to tackle a topic, a chapter or chapters. As the individual will be reading the chapters, he should ensure to make short notes so that when reading the second time he will not have to go to the original text but study his notes.

A person should derive questions when going through the topics and ensure to answer them after finishing the topic. A lot of practice questions should also be done. This is so as to reinforce well what a person has read and show the weak areas that the individual needs to focus more. One should ensure to review the questions and answers over and over to ensure a good grasp of information.

It is also important that a person gets into a study group. This is because no one person can understand everything. There are some things others will understand better than a person and in study groups, a person can get to understand some points better. Also group studies will see the candidates go through the reading materials, revision questions and this ensures that all one has read sticks well in the brain.

Therefore starting preparation early and ensuring to adhere to an effective study plan will ensure that people perform well in this exam. However other things should be ensured when preparing for the test such as eating well, exercising and avoiding stress. These are also precursors to passing this exam.
