Methods To Consider In Finalizing Web Design

By Shawn Olson

For anyone having a good web design that stands out would be very welcome indeed. This is especially true of one who wants to have a unique identity in a very large internet community. Apart from your site just looking nice and attractive, you should consider other factors that go into making it great.

The most important thing and something not really prioritized is the domain name. Choosing a good domain name is critical in making your project work. It has to short and catchy. Likewise it must also be easy to remember so that it will have high recall value over a long time.

Most of us involved in affiliate marketing may want to throw in all the affiliate banners and click ads onto our site. This is not recommended, as it will take the focus away from what your site really is. Limit your affiliate advertising if any to two or three at the maximum. By limiting the advertising you can help the focus of the reader or visitor onto your main idea.

Designing it for your target audience is a key to a successful design. You will not want to put drab and dead colors or other such kinds of themes if your target audience is say the young set or even children. And neither will you use very loud colors for a more conservative target audience. Do your market research on what kind of page elements to use for certain audiences. Also remember to update or revise the theme once in a while to keep audience interest up.

Many newcomers also put a lot of pictures and graphics on their pages. But who can really blame anyone for this, as showing the world certain pictures and the like has become second nature for almost everyone. However, do keep graphics to a minimum so that focus is kept on the main gist and message of the site. Not having too many graphics and pictures will assist you in having faster load times, which is a critical component also.

Due to the ever decreasing attention span by many internet users, if your page takes longer than ten seconds to load then you are dead. Dead in the way that they will close the tab linked to your address and go to another one. Thus always aim for having faster load times in your design by not having too many graphics.

A standard rule for any site to be passable is to have an internal search engine and also a site map. Of the two, the site map can be deemed as the most important. This Is because the site map is the one scanned by search engines when queries are sent. Thus a good site map will increase your rankings and your hits as well.

Thus we have covered some important aspects of what to include in your design ideas. Although it is not limited alone to these concepts discussed in this article, they can be considered as critical and should not be left out. Always include the items just discussed above in your next design endeavor.
