A printer/scanner/fax combination is a space and money saver, but you may not need all the functions. Buy only what you need to start out with - you can always add as you go along.

These distractions can build up easily until you realize that it has been a week since you have actually had time to do any work! Of course, things do pop up, and most likely the reason you are working from home is to have the flexibility to spend more time with your family.
One way to be successful is to develop a working schedule. Once you decide on the times that you need to be working, try to stick to it the same as if you were heading to the office. Make sure friends and family members are aware of the schedule and adhere to it as much as possible. A nanny or babysitter could be hired to assist with the kids to allow you to work.
