Employer Do's and Don'ts to the Home Maid

By Alice Sy

Hiring a home maid is not the end of your household problems. In fact, there are cases when it gets worse. If you can keep track of your words and actions then some problems can be avoided in the future. Learn the important things to do and what not to and you'll achieve a clean and peaceful household.

Do treat your Maid humanely but don't be overfriendly House maids are mere humans. Treat her like you would yourself. Give her a nice place, decent meals and don't assign unreasonable loads of work. Anything you order to your maid, think if you yourself can do it. Don't treat her though like she was your best friend for how can you expect to give her orders? Be professional and just maintain the respect.

Do keep your treasures secretly but don't think the maid will always hunt it Anyone can be blamed when something is out of the bag, even the cook maids. Well, if you have kept your valuables safe in the first place, this could have been avoided. By the way, not all common problems like a missing valuable or stolen husband can be caused by the maid, seriously.

Reach out constantly House maids, cook, maids, and nannies, even guards-reach out to all your employees at home. To reach out means keeping the communication lines open and voicing out your expectations and reminding them constantly of some specific tasks. That way, you don't blame yourself if something goes wrong.

When dealing with your home maid always keep your emotions at a rational level. Whatever happens, just keep your cool to avoid any raging words or actions coming from nowhere. Don't expect much from your maid for she is out there to help, just do your best to keep the peace in the household.
