The Department of Defense of the United States has a program called LOGCAP which provides defense contractor jobs. LOGCAP is an acronym for Logistics Civil Augmentation Program, and it is in place to get vital services performed by civilian personnel, that allows troops to be readily available in the war zone for tactical operations. Defense contractor jobs are not for everyone. By their very nature, jobs in defense have the very real element of danger and hazard that is associated with any war zone. There is the possibility of mortar or grenade attacks, improvised explosive devices, small arms fire, and even kidnappings. As a result of these obvious dangers, the jobs within the LOGCAP program pay extremely well, usually a lot higher than for the same position at home.
An overlooked component of LOGCAP jobs in defense, but possibly the most important thing, is to have a properly formatted resume. While obviously the skill sets and job experiences of potential candidates are important, LOGCAP recruiters look for specific keywords and formatting in a resume. A very well qualified person may not be properly noticed to get the job if their resume cannot grab and hold the recruiters attention.
