Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is the largest state park in California. There is five-hundred miles of dirt roads, 12 wilderness areas and miles of hiking trails that provide visitors with an unparalleled opportunity to experience the wonders of the California Desert.
There are washes, wildflowers, palm groves, cacti and sweeping vistas for the visitors enjoyment. Visitors might also get the chance to see roadrunner, golden eagles, kit foxes, mule deer and bighorn sheep as well as iguanas, chuckwallas and the red diamond rattlesnake. Anza-Boregga Desert was named after Spanish explored named Juan Bautista and Borrega a bighorn sheep,
On 1989 there were two art shows that were shown with the Grapefruit Festival. On 1991 the two art shows became one drawing upon the beauty of the Anza Borrego Desert. All the art shows were held at the Christmas Circle Park at the heart of Borrego Springs Village.
To welcome the spring coming in around March would be the time the art show would be held at the Christmas Circle Park. Since the art show was shown at the Christmas Circle Park they soon started call the art show as Circle of Art.
This fine arts show is free to the public and features over seventy artists exhibiting their quality paintings and art works representing a variety of media including oil and watercolors, photography, sculpture, ceramics, pottery, weaving and jewelry.
Every year that there is a Circle of Art show there is a poster artist selected. His art would then be sold on the next year with his signature on the poster. For the next year another artist will be selected and his poster will again be sold on the next year. This is an event that has been happening every year when there is a Circle of Art Show.
