How To Help Mexican Orphans

By Margaret McDonald

An orphan is a child who has lost one or both parents. There are approximately 132 million children worldwide who are orphans according to UNICEF. Sadly not all of them have been catered for by these statistics. There are those who have been abandoned by these numbers. Some people have raised money to help Mexican orphans living in various orphanages in the country.

People sometimes wonder where orphans come from despite the obvious way of losing their both parents. Aside from that there are others like religious and cultural differences, negligence and abuse. At times they live with a family member who is ill and cannot take care of them. That is how most of them end up in the street and get involved in criminal activities.

In some cases children who have been neglected by their family members and left out in the streets are sometimes not considered as orphans. Most people never understand the hard life that they face trying to get a loving home. Some are taken by a family member who makes them a slave thus run to the streets. In the streets very few survive most of them die of diseases.

There is a need to make a difference in their lives. It does not matter which religion you come from as long as you love kids you need to do something about it. These innocent orphans need your support to make an impact in their lives. Everyone was born with specific basic needs like food and shelter. If you can provide any of these basic needs to them you have to help them.

Giving these orphans basic needs is not everything. These kids have been to hell and back so they need moral support. Talk to them and give them guidance. They need to be mentored and integrated back to the society. When you talk to them you get to understand their struggles and advise them accordingly. This helps them to believe there is more to life after the pain.

In case you are planning on working in an orphanage be ready to give these kids some advice. Most of them feel abandoned and so alone in this world. Some have carried along their family issues with them. Others need special especially those who have health problems. Be ready to walk this journey with them and give them moral support whenever possible.

Adoption and foster care are never a solution as most people may think. Most of these children seeking to be adopted could have legal issues. Some have been caught in criminal activities hence hard to be adopted. When it comes to foster homes most of them are badly taken care of while in developing there are no foster homes.

To understand the best way to help the orphans one must understand that a child will first seek their critical needs. This leads to a particular pattern. For example if a child steals food and it satisfies their hunger they will do the same over and over as a means of survival. These kids become what they have learnt during their struggle to survive.
