Besides the calcium build up the puddle water itself can have stain which causes problems and mostly end up discoloring the puddle. Muriatic acid is mostly used in such cases to remove this form of dirt from the puddle slates. Proper mixing of this acid with water is conducted and then used to remove the dirt.

The method is basically shot at very minimal pressure. When this kind of salt comes to contact with the surface of the puddle it often bursts out. The bursting of the salt is actually what releases all the dirt attached to the puddle slates. This method is viewed to work perfectly on ceramic, sand stone together with other common types of tiles. The product used is usually bio degradable and has a neutral pH and most pool owners prefer it since it is the safest.
