Ideas on Maximizing Small Business Expansion

By Cortez Ginsberg

It is almost impossible to run out of marketing ideas to help you grow your small business. It's possible to spend entire days reading about all of the different and proven marketing techniques--that's how many of them there already are. Don't forget that you can come up with even more, based on your own creativity. There is a lot of power held in marketing and any experienced and well-informed business owner will inherently understand this. You can dress up a poor product in slick marketing and make a lot of money. We have all seen those moments of marketing failure when, due to a lack of marketing, a really great product fails to make any money.

It's almost certain that you have something on the backend you can offer your clients. In case you don't know, your customers are your best prospects. Consider they are your warm prospects because they've already done business with you. If you delivered on your promises of providing good value and service, you will find they will be more likely to take notice of your other offers. But the key here is to avoid spoiling the relationship with poor offers. This approach applies to both online and offline businesses, as it's been used in the real world successfully for years. Direct mail offers can work very well and that has already been proven for decades.

It is highly likely that you are going to find more inspiration and ideas for marketing your small business than you will ever be able to put to work for you. If you do a comprehensive search on Google, you'll turn up all sorts of ideas--plenty of which you can actually employ. Then you can move to paid-for content from reliable and trusted sources.

You can find some on the web who say direct mail is dead and a waste of time. You can find all sorts of false information online--perhaps these people don't want you to do direct mail because they want a corner on the mail market. Direct mail can still get the job done and is going to make you all sorts of money--lots of the smarter entrepreneurs are able to use it to make millions in profits. Your goal, however, as a small business entrepreneur, is to get your customers' contact information. Then you'll be able to use direct mail to promote pretty much whatever special offers you are hoping to promote. Since you have a website, make sure that your direct mail sends people to that site. One of the best ways to get more business traffic is to use online coupons.

Lots of online marketers insist that there is no need to do direct mail and that taking it on is a waste of your time. The net is full of false information, or maybe they don't want you using it because they want the mail market. Direct mail is still effective and will make you a lot of money--some of the smarter businesses are able to use it to bring in millions of dollars every year with it. But for you, the small offline business, simply capture customer contact information. Then you can use direct mail to promote any special offers you want. You have a website, so use that in combination with direct mailings and send people to your site. Online coupons offer on your site, only, are a great way to get traffic into your business. It isn't necessary for your small company to grow by leaps and bounds. For example, if you find a few good partnerships, it could take months for the effects to be felt. If you can do that, then use the profits for advertising online if that suits your model. Thus, to succeed you will have to scale up your successful campaigns after you have made careful choices and seen concrete proof of positive results.
