Multiple Uses for the Corner Computer Desk

By Kim Day

Many people have uses for corner computer desks. Executives, assistants, cube workers, receptionists, and even all their kids at home can use these types of desks.

Executives may have sprawling oak desks. Theres probably would not have a lot of filing and organizational space. However, they could use book shelves. Executives also tend to add on to their corner computer desks with mini coat closets and mini liquor bars.

An executives assistant on the other hand will need place to organize all the executives work. So they will use more file cabinets and drawers.

Cubicles are designed to make the most out of a small space (ie efficiency). L-shaped and u-shaped desks work perfectly in cubicles. You can stack things on top of the desks as well as underneath to make use of all the space you have.

Reception desks also come in an l-shape if you want. The priority of a receptionist is to give a great first impression of the company, this includes looking organized at their desk.

A proper reception desk will disguise all the work that is going on. A high front bar provides a great hiding place. Additionally, it is vital to add as many drawers as necessary to keep all the work organized.

Many times, a guest will spend some time waiting in a reception area. Maybe the person they came to see is not ready for them to come back yet. In this case, it is appropriate to have a comfortable seating area close to the reception desk. This way, when it is time for the guest to enter the office, the receptionist can just speak up and not have to track them down anywhere.

The best way to change the way a reception area looks is by changing the lighting. If it were up to me, flourescent lights would be banned everywhere However, they especially should not be used in a reception area.

All in all, a reception area should represent the mantra of the company. Choose decorations that are relevant toi your company. This may help people trust and want to do business with you.
