How To Help Some Refine Their Emotional Intelligence With Group Culture Assessments Coaching

By Pamela Adams

As people, we all have strengths and weaknesses, and for some people, that weakness comes in the form of expressing themselves. An individual with emotional intelligence is tailor suited to help others spot and identify problems they may be facing but unaware of regarding expression. Some are easy fixes while others as Group Culture Assessments require the expertise of an emotional intelligence coach.

As mentioned before, the reason for coaching can be for a number of reasons, be it to help with issues at work that affect you emotionally, or in the workplace in order to perform better at tasks, whatever they may be. What is important to keep note of is that coaching is not therapy, nor should it be treated as such. But it should be viewed as a way of ensuring that emotions that may affect performance at work, for example, are avoided.

These difficulties range from an inability to control emotional outbursts in the workplace to being too reserved and closed up for a lack of a better word, with friends and family who are concerned with the emotional state of the client a coach may find themselves having to assist. Coaches who set out to find themselves highly sought after need to invest in tools that will help them be better suited in their profession.

A declaration of personal vision and values that need to be written down and sought after. This coupled with a vision statement to assist them in obtaining the goals they have set out to achieve at the end of a predetermined period of time. This not only provides a sense of urgency but it goes from a state of what will be done to a state of what is being done.

Although it is a great idea to help people see where a wrong turn was taken, it doesn t necessarily mean that they ll listen because humans in general, regardless of which intelligence group they may fall, don t like being told what to do. What does work, as coaches have found is an approach that relates to that person directly.

Based on that information, a coach can then be able to conduct a feedback based on this assessment and offer solutions that may be tailor-made to the person in need situation. This can be anything from emotional tracking, where clients need to track how they feel throughout a predetermined time period, give feedback at the end of the date, allowing for assessment and amendment.

This method is a great method to use in order to make people who struggle with their emotion understand and come to terms with how they work. This is also a great way to help them expand the manner in which they express themselves using words making it easier for them to be understood and avoid frustration.

As people, we re all different and respond to stimuli. Learning how to control your own emotions due to the actions of others or internal struggles that may affect them, makes you more approachable but with a little coaching, can transform you from just another employee to one a company just needs for that extra support.
