Are Women Better Auto Sales Person Than Their Male Counterparts?

Salesmen have been known for being slick and dishonest. The trickery and deceptiveness of car salesmen have been brought out in such movies as Used Cars, and The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard. There are several dealerships that have gone a long way in changing this belief. For years, car salesman made their money on commissions. No commissions, no sales. No sales, no food, electricity, and rent. Thus the pressure was on.

Over a long period of time, the old adage Let the buyer beware has been in use. The thing behind this was that you had to lookout for your own interests while searching for your car.

While it's true that most car salesman are not that way, enough are to make most people looking for a car to be wary. Sales people come in all types of manner, there are the smooth talkers and others just give you the facts. There are others that don't tell if not asked. Also, there are women car salesmen alongside men. How do female car salesman survive in this environment.

The fact remains that women prefer not dealing with car salesmen while searching for a car. Though, they might change their minds if the salesman turns out to be a woman. The reason behind this is that they trust the woman salesman to be empathetic.

In addition to this, women tend to exhibit a softer tendency of approach. This thus draws people who would have rather ran away making them better salesmen. Women are just better listeners. Women want to be listened to. For that reason women far more prefer a female salesman over a man.

Another thing that discourages women is when you ask of the whereabouts of their spouses. Women salesmen do not do that. This does not happen with women salesmen. They assume that you know what you're doing when you come to their car lot by a car. These women have also gone through this hence know what you are going through there an then.

Women put their trust in their fellow brethren and feel that they understand each other. Empathy is very important in sales. Sales is really about emotion. Women know how to use emotion much better than men.

Most men will deal with a woman salesman. They aren't intimidated by a women salesmen as they assume they know more. This comes to an advantage to women salesmen who just want to earn a real payday and do a good job.
