Basics To Know When Choosing The Right Cemetery Candles

By Anna Katrina

The practice of regularly visiting the graves of those who have passed away is a long standing tradition in many societies. It is customary to leave flowers and gifts at the site in honor of the deceased. A growing trend is to use Cemetery Candles to provide both illumination and decoration to the headstone.

In many cultures, it is a sign of respect to place a candle on a headstone as a symbolic gesture. Unfortunately, an open flame poses a risk of causing a fire and are banned from a majority of burial facilities. Solar powered lanterns have become a great alternative solution for this issue.

Known by several different names, the main purpose of the product is to always keep the name illuminated. Instead of filament, LED bulbs powered by solar cells are used to generate their light. With the capability to store excess energy until needed, they will shine regardless of weather conditions.

Light-emitting diodes have the capacity of as many as 100,000 hours of operation, which is quite economical. Dependability also makes them a worthy investment. They also have the versatility of having their glow come in various forms such a steady and bright, flickering to imitate a real candle, or amber for soft light.

Headstone design and size are huge factors to consider when selecting this type of lighting. That will help determine whether or not a shelf sitting model or a ground stake style would be more appropriate. Of course before any purchase is made, one should verify that the particular burial facility has no bans or restrictions on these decorations.

Not only do these items look attractive and serve an honorable purpose, they have other advantages as well. They are environmentally friendly and can be easily transported or rearranged. They last for a long time and provide many hours of reliable lighting without needing to be constantly monitored and with no worry of fire if they should be tipped over.
