Cell Phones - The world at your finger tips

By Tyler J L Neill

Thanks to the mobile phone age that we are living in, it is now possible to contact anyone at anytime, anywhere in the world. If your on holiday, your friends and family are at the touch of a button, if your lonely, just phone a friend to talk to, there is always someone, somewhere, that you can call. Your available 24/7 with a cell phone, either making or recieving calls, how did we ever survive without them...

Sometimes, the cell phone ringing annoys us, as it just seems to ring at the most awkward of times. If we are at the cinema, at a wedding we seem to always forget to switch the cell phone off, and at times like this, its most likely to ring. Sometimes, people seem to forget as to what time it is, and they will call you at al hours, waking you up from your sleep, only to find out it is something that could have waited till morning. Its times like this the cell phone is a nusicance.

In this day and age, cell phones are everywhere. No matter where you go you are sure to see many people talking on them. You may be sitting on a bus and the person in front of you is talking away on the cell phone, and this can be really annoying, as people tend to be loud and laughing on them when they are out. If your in business, cell phones are a good way to keep in contact with the office, and business partners.

The concept of the cell phone is to contact and be contacted. But what we seem to forget, is that when we are in situations like a business meeting, wedding, funeral etc someone always forgets to turn them off, and in situations like these, this is when they should be turned off. If you find yourself in a situation like this, a cell phone gos off near you, your instinct is to check to see if it is yours, and the one whose phone it is, is left looking like an idiot. Imagine how you would feel if your phone went off in one of these situations. Remember to turn it off, or at least put it on silent, when you find yourself ina situation like this.

During meetings, please turn off your cell phone; it is rude to have your phone ringing while somebody speaks Disruption may cause problems especially when the meeting tackles extremely important issues. However, if you are waiting for terribly important call, you may use the vibrate mode of your cell phone to alert you when a call is in-coming and leave the meeting if you need to answer the call. You may also inform the possible caller that you are in a meeting and that you cannot be disturbed.

Why do people never seem to turn the cell phones off before the enter a place of worshipp for example? In my local church, not a week gos by when someones phone doesnt go off. It happens each and every week, and you would think by now they would have learned to switch them off, as you never know the moment when your phone will ring.

Mobile phones or Cell phones depending on where you live in the world, have become part of everday life, to the extent that we cannot be without them. We are constantly changing our phones to the latest models, and they have beome big business for people and firms who sell them.
