Advantages of Article Marketing

By Justin Harrison

Article marketing has always been though of as a good marketing tool from the time of print media all the way up to the new internet media. Well-written articles on a vast array of topics are needed more than ever as new internet mediums, such as ezines and the ubiquitous websites, up the potential audience for such articles. Consequently, article marketing has achieved even greater success in this new period of commerce.

When someone is looking to advertise for their business, they usually will turn to a critic and have them write an article about the business. And when that happens usually the business will be flooded with more customers, but then if the review is bad, then the business will lose business.

For a business owner, offering content for publication basically provides them with free ad space on thousands of websites all over the world. There is a compelling opportunity for exposure to the right customers in the right market, while the expense is next to nothing, which makes the practice a powerful and quite elegant method for a business's communication.

Article marketing specifically focuses on a willing audience, rather than other methods, such as using e-mail campaigns for lead generation. This results in a much higher response rate. Readers have volunteered to receive the information, so they are naturally more open to its contents, and more likely to seek out the author's website to read more

Established publishers who accept the articles already have a captive audience of likely customers. People who read the articles are concerned most of all with content, suggesting that they could be in a position to buy items or services relating to the content. Buying a comparable list of those high-quality leads would be very expensive. But writing an article only requires a minimal investment of time.

A higher conversion rate can be achieved by business owners by incorporating a link to some specific information in the writer's bio. Writers should provide a link to an article further explaining the subject on their own website instead of a link to just the homepage. This will encourage readers to look for supplementary information on the subject.

You can improve the conversion rates more by publishing an email address for them in subscribing to the author's maintained newsletter or website. In making the desired action as easy as possible for your readers you increase the likelihood of them doing so. An auto-response may be able to be sent to new signup links by features of the author's website.

The first thing some company's think about it, how can I draw more customers to my site. And then they try and figure out how to succeed. When this happens it will not happen over night. It may take some time for the site to get a lot of hits, but when it does, the company will have more business that they probably will know what to do with.
